Rockets are cool 2.0
At the beginning of the summer holidays I already gave a small update that things might change around here. I didn’t dare to say what it was then, because I was still contemplating a lot. But, now I know and it’s going to be fun. At least I hope so.

Update on everything going on
So, let me start with the most important things. I’ve decided to put more time and effort into Rockets are cool. As you can see from the number of updates, new articles, and the time span, it’s very quiet here. And that’s gonna change. Although, I am not going to pump content like an idiot, because quality is still very important to me. It’s more that I want to publish a little more consistently and take this whole thing more seriously.

A little sneak preview
Plus
Between the lines of previous articles, I’ve mentioned it a few times, and now it’s time to go for it. I’m going to boot up a Membership thing. I’m still in doubt What tiers and perks I’ll create, but that will become clear in the next couple of months. So hold your horses. It will be worth it.
Bye, bye Dutch version
Unfortunately, I have had to decide that the Dutch version of this website will disappear. It is simply not possible for me to write all the content in two languages. I’m still just a one-man show here. In addition, I know from experience that almost everyone in The Netherlands and Belgium can speak English just fine.
Kinda bye, bye to social media
In the context of more focus, I don’t want to spend too much time anymore on social media, so I’ve decided to drastically limit my time there. If I didn’t have this website, I would completely get rid of all my accounts, but now it feels like an obligation to have some kind of social media presence.
I have written before about my doubts about being active on social media. And with the recent Twitter/X shenanigan, it became clear to me that I want a hiatus. For now, I only use Instagram, since it’s a fun platform, but also very sporadically. On all other channels, I will still publish links to articles on Rocketsare.cool.
A storm is coming…
Okay, this sounds a bit clickbaity, but there’s another big change coming up and I’m not going to tell you about it until later.
I promise it’s worth the wait.

Nice links
Site: The password game
This site makes it painfully clear how annoying it can sometimes be to create a password.
Site: Infinite Mac
A website where you can control an old iMac. Need I say more?
App: Rewind.ai
A tool that becomes your memory of everything you do on your Mac through AI. Sounds cool, but I’m not quite convinced I want it yet.
App: Hypersonic
A great tool that links Notion to Raycast and with which you can immediately create an action from a single command. Saves a lot of time.
Software: Arc browser
In my previous newsletter, I already linked to the SigmaOS browser, so now I link to a browser again. Although I think Arc is innovative. As John Gruber put it nicely: it’s more of a platform of apps than a browser of tabs.
To be honest, I’m not quite sure if it’s my thing yet. But kudos to any club that wants to take on Google Chrome.

What I’m reading
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
I haven’t read a word yet, but I can’t wait to get started on this one. The reviews are overwhelming and it’s about games so how bad can it be?
How not to be wrong by Jordan Ellenberg
Also for this book, I have just started, but every well-written book about math especially where you can use Mathematical thinking in our everyday life, is a must-read for me.
That was it for this edition. Hopefully, you are as excited about all the new things coming up, as I am.
See you soon.
