A method that works
Hey,
Lately, I’ve been busy finding better ways to work. Productivity and efficiency are always on my mind, but since I lay in bed sick and exhausted for a long period in December, this topic has become more important than it ever was. Because I realized all too well that I simply couldn’t manage it anymore.
On the one hand, I had too much on my plate (consciously or unconsciously). On the other hand, I didn’t have a structure or system that made it feel like I was going to accomplish something at any moment. Fortunately, things are going a lot better now (a month and a half later). I went recklessly through my tasks and projects and did so with a blunt axe. In addition to the fact that I am also fully immersed in methods and systems that work well.
If, like me, you are looking for which method or system works well, then you know that that is not an easy task. After all, a system or method is not the same as downloading an app and trying it a few times. To properly determine whether a system or method works, you have to fully dive into it and embrace it therefore realizing that you will be down with this new thing for a couple of months. Without knowing if it’s something for you…
Moreover, productivity is “hot”, which means that you can find endless information about it and, as with popular topics, it is subject to fashion. Almost every month there is something new on the market that is “completely awesome” and is the best next thing.
I try to look through it a bit so that I can see what really works and especially why. I look through it in two ways:
- By applying it myself for a long time and, above all, testing it with a lot of different scenarios.
- By collecting as much data as possible and analyzing it
Perhaps I will write more about my productivity system, because being organized helps a lot with studying.
Latest news
Update on everything going on
To be honest, there is little news to report. The site and writing has been a bit quiet because I was ill for a long time and because of other priorities. I am now up and running again, but with the realization that I must and want to continue to take good care of myself. Quality over quantity applies now more than ever.
Coming up
A little sneak preview
Version 6.0
The site is now ready for version 6.0. That is more something for me as a developer than that you notice it a lot as a reader or visitor. It’s mainly bug fixes and minor tweaks. You will now find the search functionality at the top left and the logo is in the middle. This is to create more white space on the site.
Ability to save articles
In the near future, I will be rolling out a new functionality that allows you to save articles for later, so you can read it whenever you want.
Rockets for sale Shop
I keep mentioning it, if only to keep a stick behind the door for myself. The shop is coming. The target date is now October 2023. Stay tuned.

Artikel Envy Is the Cancer of the Soul
I stumbled upon this article because of the topic. Every month I have a men’s group where we get together and discuss certain topics and last time it happened to be about Jealousy.
Artikel: How to level up your Weird Internet Career
I think the title speaks for itself 😉 This tip is for everyone who does something on the internet and, like me, has a healthy doubt about it.
Artikel: What to do with your life
Julian Shapiro is one of my favorite authors. He doesn’t write much and often, but what he writes is spot on.
App: Reader
I must honestly say that I am very happy with Instapaper (which is pretty much the same thing), but I will definitely give this app a shot.
Software: SigmaOS
I really have a soft spot for testing new browsers. Google Chrome has been my go-to browser for years, as has been for most of humanity, but that hasn’t stopped browser builders (nice word, by the way) from giving it a shot. Most new browsers opt for the privacy angle, but SigmaOS goes for productivity above all else. Exactly what I like!

What I’m reading
The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee
This book has been on my list for a long time, actually since it won the Pulitzer Prize in 2011.
The Body by Bill Bryson
No one can write as clearly about complex scientific subject matter as Bill Bryson. What a joy this is!
That’s it. Next week I’m going on a Skiing trip with the family. Playing in the snow with an empty head.
Best of luck to you! Enjoy your day and see you soon.
